We stayed on a dinner b & b tarrif. The food was excellent and the owner and staff very friendly. However we were surprised that the room was not serviced each day, and it was not mentioned anywhere. On arrival 3pm we had no English tea bags in the room, and had to wait till 6pm for them! The bathroom toilet was not cleaned and on closer inspection the room was not properly cleaned. Breakfast was lovely but no offer of fruit juice, toast, marmalade etc.
To sum up, great food, friendly staff but the general care of the room and surroundings was very poor.

What an amazing find......... Stayed on business, the owner eas very welcoming. The rooms are awesome and full of character.... The bed was way too comfy and the towels just snelt fantastic

The perfect way to end our holiday in Suffolk. We received first class service from the young lady who waited our table, the food was exceptional and the chef / owner was extremely friendly, kindly seating us inside when we had booked a table outdoors for our dog on a particularly chilly evening. The butternut soup starter was delicious, velvety smooth and fragrant. The fishcakes were fresh and zingy. The roast chicken & pork belly mains were REALLY tasty…and the ginger sticky toffee pudding left us in the best kind of coma 😜 I wish we lived closer so we could come back often! Don’t miss out on this place.

A little gem of a place in Halesworth, we had a delicious, gourmet meal 🤩 lovely dining rooms, attentive staff, good value for this level of cooking - probably the best fine dining restaurant in the area, highly recommended!

Love the Boarding House! A cut above all the other restaurants and gastropubs in the area. Tyler and his team do a tremendous job…..and they even customised my dessert.

Excellent food - far exceeded expectations. We visited for a 60th birthday on a Sunday, so ended up having roast dinner. They had a great selection and a fantastic pork belly.
They were excellent, allowing us to put up some birthday banners and have us some lovely truffles.
I'd thoroughly recommend.

We’ve been here twice now and I have to say, there is nowhere around this part of the world that comes remotely close to the quality of food that is served here.
The menu is very good and lists a handful of options in three courses, we’ve tried a few of them and all dishes are very tasty.
The accompanying wine list is excellent and they serve a very good cocktail.

So glad I took up the recommendation from #fenfarmdairy because this was an exceptional dining experience. Every moorish mouthful was a delicious delight. Tyler's menu is imaginative, innovative and simply stunning (the new passionfruit pavlova is a triumph!)
We also stayed over - the bedroom was huge! The super-king bed so comfortable, with lovely linens, stylish and spotlessly clean. A really nice touch is fresh milk in the mini-fridge with a selection of '"proper" teas and coffees plus home-made biscuits...lush!
There was so much choice for brunch in the morning just didn't know what to opt for (the Suffolk brekkie of course) - again everything just so delicious, locally sourced and cooked to perfection.
A mention also for Tyler himself who is a warm and charming host and an a-maz-ing chef! Thank you for such a wonderful time - we can't wait to come back soon! Lisa, Ashley, Gail and Andrew

Seriously good food and lovely staff. Was especially impressed with the vegan option. Suffolk can be somewhat lacking for imaginative tasty food so super happy to have found this delightful establishment.

We just had the most amazing soup i have ever had in my life! It was curried lentil soup which the delivered to the Halesworth climate conference, I've not been to the restaurant itself but the food was out of the world!

Very friendly host, Lee. Made us feel very welcome. Lovely room especially the shower. Bed was a little small for two people. Breakfast with locally sourced produce was immense. Its not cheap here but would definitely recommend for a treat.

You have to walk a tiny bit from the main shopping street to get here and it is well worth it! Amazing food! Great atmosphere and attitude! Service was lovely. Beautiful Canadians running a wonderful British establishment and the food was superb.

First time here, absolutely knocked out by excellent food! A fabulous evening for D-in-Law's birthday - really beautifully prepared and plated food easily meeting variety of our needs (GF and V), roomy and tastefully decorated - really friendly staff who prepared a 'Happy Birthday' candle and plate at the end of our meal. Perfect!

Just and a weekend away In Halesworth to attend a wedding, what a little treat the Boarding house is, the Staff were Uber friendly and when we were stuck without a taxi Pauline took us in her own car! Above and beyond as far as I'm concerned. The Suffolk Breakfast was awsome thanks to Tyler. Would definatly recommend a stay. AAA+++.

Absolutely cannot recommend this place highly enough. Free parking, lovely garden, located in the market place amongst the antique shops, and food was amazing. Service fantastic. Not only was our room really lovely and atmospheric with home made biscuits, tea, coffee, bottles of water, the owners were above and beyond helpful. Thank you to Pauline who helped me on arrival - I desperately needed a chemist (they had closed), slight panic, but she came up trumps for me with her own private supplies! We then couldn't book a taxi to get us to a friend's wedding that evening and she put herself out and personally drove us there in her car which is not part of the service - that was really appreciated and kind of her! You are the nicest couple. Thank you for a memorable stay! The breakfast was the best we have had and and your coffee after a hard night of partying was the best! Thank you both x

The best food in the area. Traditional and hearty food cooked to perfection, the beef is exceptional. Excellent wines and beautiful cocktails too. I highly recommend a meal here!

My two daughters treated me to Mother's Day lunch today. None of us had been before, but what a treat it turned out to be. The food was exceptional (I had the pork belly...definitely recommend). The service by our two lovely, friendly waitresses made us feel very welcome.
Our new favourite place to eat and spend time in. We'll definitely be back.

Excellent menu and food quality was very good. Staff were polite and friendly. Prices were reasonable for the high standard of food. Decor could be vastly improved but it didn't detract from enjoying ourselves. Street parking directly outside, no charging.
